Manifest Your Desires: How to Make Your Dreams Come True
You must learn how to manifest your desires. Why? Because how you see yourself and how you envision your life is key to making your dreams a reality.
Everyone has dreams. Many people live their lives exactly how they want to, while others give up on themselves and live unfulfilled, complacent lives. Does that mean that your life is over?
Are you breathing? Then your life is not over.
Despite what many people like to believe, your life is not over at a certain age, or after you’re married or even after you’ve chosen a career—even if you’ve been doing that career for decades. The truth is, you can manifest your desires by changing your thinking, your beliefs and your actions. Easy to do? Not always. Possible? Definitely. Knowing this helps you progress further on your self improvement journey.
We have been around so many negative people who shrug off their wants and try to make us do the same, convincing themselves and desperately trying to convince others, that living a complacent life is okay. And it is. But the trouble is, that’s all it will ever be: simply okay.
These are the same people who see no need for personal development. They enjoy thinking in limiting ways, earning a limiting income, experiencing a limiting everything. If you're reading this, then you want more and know that you deserve more out of life than you may be currently experiencing.
We’ve discussed the
topic of resistance to change in our blog,
so be sure to read it for more information on dealing with resistance to change and how to deal with negative people.
In his famous recording, “The Strangest Secret,”
Earl Nightingale quotes psychiatrist, Rollo May, author of, “Man’s Search For Himself,” who states that, “The opposite of courage in our society is not cowardice, it is conformity.”
If the majority of people (95% according to Earl Nightingale) are unsuccessful, broke, in debt, unhappy, then why are we following them in beliefs and behavior? Does it make sense to follow the wrong group of people? The 95% who don’t succeed?
Shouldn’t we be following the 5% of successful people? The ones who are successful? The ones who look fear in the face and overcome obstacles? The ones who dare to live their dreams? That's what self improvement is all about.
The time is now to manifest your desires.
This sounds good, so how do you do it?
If you haven’t already done so, read our information on the
power of positive thinking.
Thinking in positive ways plays a crucial role in manifesting your desires. Get into the habit of feeling good, by switching your thinking patterns from negative ones to positive ones.
One of the most effective ways to manifest your desires is to
visualize what you want.
Try this exercise: Every morning when you get up and every night before you go to sleep, close your eyes for a few minutes and visualize your self living the life that you want. If it’s a dream house that you really want, then envision that dream house. See yourself driving up to it, parking your car in your new driveway. Take in the front door as you unlock it, what smells come from your garden? What does your entry way look like? What colors are on the walls? Do you have any original art? What does it look like? Walk through your new house. Enjoy it. Savor it.
When you’ve sent out those positive feelings into the universe, go about your day or if it’s at night, go to sleep. Either way, believe that your dream house is on its way to you. Don’t question how. This only negates all your positive feelings. The universe takes care of the how. You just order what you want.
You can do this for anything you want. If it’s not a dream house that you want, and it’s a certain career, then do the same exercise seeing yourself living that career.
The important about visualizing is that you do it repeatedly and really feel good about doing it. You may also want to incorporate
affirmations to help manifest your desires.
For instance, at the end of your visualizing exercise, state aloud things such as, “I am enjoying my new dream house,” or, “I am successful and excelling at my dream job.” Whatever it is that you want, state it in the present tense for maximum benefit.
If you find that you need help in this department, use vision boards. Spend some time looking for pictures of things that you want and put them together on a board or in a three-ring binder and look at it often.
We cannot emphasize enough how important using vision boards is your self improvement journey. Vision boards have been so effective for us, that we are constantly adding to them and use them every single day. They’re also great for keeping you aware of things that you may have thought about, forgotten about and then had them appear. There are no coincidences thoughts really do become things.
If something shows up, remember that you placed the order by thinking about it. So control what you think about by using things such as vision boards to help you visualize.
The next thing you want to do is write out in the present tense what you want. Just like you went into detail with the visualizing exercise, go into detail writing your life as you want it. As you’re writing it, your feelings will be uplifted and vibrate at a higher frequency. Writing out what you want will start to help manifest your desires.
When you write out what you wish to see manifest in your life, you are using a form of intention. Intending what you want is very powerful and should be used carefully. Really want what you’re intending.
All these tools will help you to manifest your desires. Be patient while the universe finds a way to bring you what you want. Be active in your own life. Do actions that will take you to where you want to be. Do this as you visualize, affirm, write and intend. All things will work together to manifest your desires.
Even if you’ve gone off track, lost focus or even given up, the fact that you’re reading this now means that a part of you hasn’t given up and that’s all you need. Know that you can manifest your desires. Put into practice what you’ve read and be open to receive.
